Bammedia was tasked to rebrand the recently merged offices of LAEGIS and MAEGS, LMETB's two arms of Adult Educational Guidance Service serving Louth and Meath. The newly formed team of guidance counsellors and information officers help adult learners explore their educational options and make informed choices regarding their education and future employment.
Following an immersive workshop, we identified some key issues that the new branding scheme aimed to resolve. Firstly there was confusion and a lack of awareness around the Adult Educational Guidance Service's offering; free, independent, impartial advice to all adult learners in the region. Secondly the previous use of acronyms was confusing to the core target audience, a person who quite often did not speak english as their first language and so it was imperative that the full name would be used in the new brand.
No two paths are the same when it comes to adult learning and returning to education. It is this core concept that underlies our logo and brand identity. The logo features 4 different routes (4 different coloured words) with simple lines that represent the direct, indirect and sometimes loopy routes to education.
Our tag line is forthright and calls out the learner to be this confident and to ‘follow their own path’, and more subtlety it says that the AEGS is the service that will allow them to follow these educational pathways.
We used a colourful palette to create stand out, and also to represent the wide variety of learner profiles and their diverse backgrounds. This is again reflected in the imagery which focuses on positive friendly conversations between learners and advisors, in and out of the classroom.
To ensure consistency online, we created a suite of social media templates in Canva for the service to use in their ongoing online marketing of courses and services.
